Well, I decided to GET REAL and share some of my personal feelings here tonight. I must admit I’m no longer able to accept a lot of what we’re being fed by the media with regards to our current crisis. I’m actually deeply annoyed and saddened that major large businesses weren’t forced to shut down their doors yet small, independent businesses owned by private entrepreneurs were forced to shut down completely for a very long period of time.

I mean this with all my heart when I say that Chicago is still part of the Midwest and it isn’t a congested city like New York or San Francisco. People here are NOT piled on top of one another. There is still plenty of room in our stores, movie houses, restaurants, sidewalks and tiny farmers markets so that people are never tightly clustered together.

I work for myself so if I decide to take a personal day off I can break up my afternoon and enjoy pastries at any cafe in the city I pick and not once did I notice any of these independent establishments being overcrowded because most people in the city or suburbs are working during the middle of the day.

I’m in strong disagreement with how everything here was handled because advanced reservations and limited seating could have been enforced very early on during this “pandemic” so that tiny businesses could have survived and people would have felt less isolated.

Today I shared my personal feelings on my Facebook wall and since I rarely lie or fake my emotions I decided to make my private thoughts PUBLIC here on my blog for all to see whether they agree with me or not. These are my feelings and opinions and might not be anyone else’s reality; but I truly need to share my disappointment this evening because it’s in my nature not to hide my voice.

Today I’m throwing a pity party for myself and the Hotel industry and all the Beautiful people in this world who are being affected negatively by the shutdown of all the Major Conventions that normally would have brought a FLOODING of Creatives and High Achievers and Doctors to our city.

I’m CRUSHED because every summer usually is PEAK SEASON for tourists and Medical professionals to come to Chicago for a visit. I literally would take a train into the city with my backpack filled with crystal beings, essential oils, my bluetooth wifi and other goodies and as soon as I’d sit down for a beverage my phone would ring and a business professional or Researcher would request my tantra services to their hotel room for the afternoon or evening.

Now that traveling is being monitored and banned these happy, spontaneous moments don’t happen for me anymore.

I had a long list of Repeat clients who remembered me from years back when I used to visit their home cities; and it’s always enjoyable to be reunited with people who deeply appreciate you.

It wasn’t unusual for me to receive invitations from new clients to visit them in their Corporate apartments or hotel room and if the session went extremely well they would inquire and request I come back later for a 2nd visit after all their business meetings were concluded for the day .

I’m grieving today because I miss being trusted and needed.
I’m positive there are many others just like me still in deep shock and feeling a combination of denial, hopelessness and a sense of deep loss.

Who doesn’t LOVE being needed.
I always appealed more to the visiting businessman than people who already reside in my home city.

To all the professionals, artists and healers finding so much extra spare time on their hands I completely EMPATHIZE with you 🧸

I’ve said all I needed to say. Every dime I’ve earned I’ve always given back to small independent business owners. Each time I dine out and have an extraordinary experience I’m the first one to write a positive review to peak people’s interest and to increase the chances of that restaurant to generate more income.

I’ve been generous with my reviews and my Instagram posts; but honestly I have yet to receive the same reciprocity because very few Native Chicagoans feel that my tantra offerings and reiki sessions are worth exploring or experiencing. Very few people here in Chicago even know or understand what the meaning of tantra yoga or kundalini activation is. The average person here in Chicago has never actually experienced an authentic tantra yoga session where chanting and proper breathing techniques are utilized to activate kundalini Shakti.

I definitely receive inquiries and calls and genuine compliments from people who appreciated my services; but the bulk of work opportunities I receive are from tourists and visiting business professionals who come here from other countries or other cities within the United States.

I have had some exceptional clients and good friends write me positive reviews which I deeply appreciate; but I’ve also had complete strangers write me fake negative reviews online just because I wasn’t available for their needs so they took it personally and slandered me online.

I feel deeply sorry that we continue to suffer and are being kept completely in the dark about when we will finally be allowed to convene again and restart conventions and major events like summer festivals and art block parties that give everyone an opportunity to meet like minds and let go and relax.

Life doesn’t sit still indefinitely based on fear. Being fear based and withdrawn doesn’t support Spiritual growth. I hate how we’re going backwards in time and becoming more Volatile and less tolerant.

We all need eachother. We all need to support one another and be open and honest about our needs. When you take and take and take remember to give something back. Don’t deplete all the Resources you enjoy— learn to replenish and support every person you met who brought you joy. Don’t take anything for granted indefinitely because when you turn around it might not be there anymore.
